Long Live the KingThe scoffer says, “You weren’t there, You preach a fairy tale.” I respond, “If so, we live in woe, For this ‘fairy tale’ avails!” The prophets foretold the coming of Christ, Spanning four thousand years. From the place of His birth, To the time of His death, His claim to the throne is clear. And in His day the powers that were, Sought to silence this Man. Two millennia later those words, Are in their greatest demand. His birth splits time and gives us gauge, To count as years go by. Take thirty-three from the present year And you know the year that He died. Enter a house of worship today, It matters not what sect. Jesus is known among them all And demands the highest respect. View the art and literature, That fills our land these days. They seem to seek abuse of His name, In new and inventive ways. More books, more plays and poems are writ’ Of the Man from Galilee, Than of all others, matter of fact, Add this, one more from me! I didn’t see Him leave the tomb. Nor see His glorious ascent. But I know the King is living, therefore, I know the King’s not dead! Angels surround Him, saints adore Him And all Creation shall sing, “All glory to the heavenly Crown. Long live the King!” The Remnant: Special EditionView Newsletter (.PDF)
