The REAL Pope John Paul II:What You Are Not Being ToldQuoting The New "Pope"“Divine Mercy: the Holy Father found the purest reflection of God’s mercy in the Mother of God. He, who at an early age had lost his own mother, loved his divine mother all the more. He heard the words of the crucified Lord as addressed personally to him: "Behold your Mother." And so he did as the beloved disciple did: he took her into his own home" (eis ta idia: Jn 19:27) – Totus tuus.” —Joseph Ratzinger (a.k.a. Pope Benedict XVI) speaking at the Funeral Mass of the Roman Pontiff, John Paul II, Saint Peter’s Square, April 8, 2005. Evangelicals Over The Top It was absolutely embarrassing. Evangelicals clamoring all over each other in efforts to be heard on television, radio and to be read in print praising the recently deceased Karol Wojtyla, known also by the alias of Pope John Paul II. To give credit where due, is admirable. It is true that Mr. Wojtyla used his appointment as head of the Roman Catholic Church and his position as head of the state of the Vatican for certain good. But some of the biggest names in evangelicalism made complete fools of themselves and were an utter embarrassment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ as they pretended to have no qualms at all with a man who accepted the blasphemous appellationA of “Holy Father” AND “Vicar of Christ”. Wojtyla was an idolater of the rankest type and his was a FALSE Gospel that damned it’s hearers to an eternal Hell. Start With The Credits Karol Wojtyla (a.k.a., Pope John Paul II) stood firm for certain moral absolutes and called on Roman Catholics and all other earth-dwellers to reject the murder of unborn children (abortion). He stood firm against so-called “gay marriage”. He spoke out against euthanasia and, specifically, in support of the Schiavo family in their battle to keep their daughter from being starved to death by order of Pinellas County (Florida) Circuit Court Judge George Greer (2005). On political matters, it will be debated for the rest of human history as to just how large a part he played in the fall of communism. But that his influence was positive is not up for debate. His seven visits to his native Poland were unprecedented and certainly gave moral impetus to the anti-communist movement in that nation. His indirect influence in Soviet Union politics was acknowledged by Andrei Gromyko and Mikhail Gorbachev prior to the fall of that communist empire and have been repeated by former-Soviet statesmen many times over since then. (It should be pointed out that the revelations of “intelligence sharing” between American CIA and Vatican sources should open the eyes of those who have blindly refused to accept the fact that the Vatican operates on par with a government agency and not a “church”. Rome rules in the kingdom of ‘the god of this world’.) On doctrinal matters, you could find where he did speak of Jesus Christ as the only true Savior of the world (all the while contradicting such statements, as shall be seen below!) and held many orthodox, Christian positions on other matters. And his movement toward moderate support of Jews and the nation of Israel are certainly commendable, given Roman Catholicism’s horrible history of anti-Semitism. But this is only part of the truth. The Whole Truth? Agnostic Aldous Huxley gave insight into just exactly why it is that evangelicals must be careful to always demand the WHOLE truth of a matter. He said, “The greatest triumphs of propaganda have been accomplished, not by doing something, but by refraining from doing. Great is the truth, but still greater, from a practical point of view, is silence about truth. By simply not mentioning certain subjects, by lowering what Mr. Churchill calls an “iron curtain” between the masses and such facts or arguments as the local political bosses regard as undesirable, totalitarian propagandists have influenced opinion much more effectively than they could have done by the most eloquent denunciations, the most compelling of logical rebuttals.” 1 Huxley knew what too many Bible believers seem to be unaware of. Partial truths are dangerous. Dear Mr. “Evangelical Spokesperson”, You Missed A Few Things… It is the duty of anyone assuming a position of spiritual leadership to handle information accurately. We would not seek to discredit the moral character of Karol Wojtyla (a.k.a., Pope John Paul II). There is no indication that he was anything less than a man of high personal morality. With that said, there are GLARING omissions from the many epitaphs and eulogies coming from most evangelical leaders and publications, being seen and heard on this matter. We see no need to get into name-dropping, especially since there were so MANY evangelical leaders guilty of this same sin of disinformation. We do not want personalities to be the issue. What we wish to accomplish is to simply provide the FACTS. FACT #1: Universalism Karol Wojtyla (a.k.a., Pope John Paul II) was guilty of double-speak. At times, he would speak about Jesus Christ being the only Savior of the world. And, yet, it is undeniable that he has literally lead billions to believe that all religions are the same. “John Paul II has gathered leaders of the worlds major religions a number of times and embraced them all as worshippers of the one, true God—including Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, Animists, Shintoists, Shamans, Witches and others. He told Hindu audiences in India that he had not come to teach them anything but to learn from their rich spiritual heritage, to which the entire world ought to give heed. “Everyone is embraced by Rome, except Bible believing Christians who the Pope (John Paul II) calls “sects” and warns Catholics against their “errors”, as he did in Mexico City in May 1990 and elsewhere since that time.2 FACT #2: Evolution Karol Wojtyla (a.k.a., Pope John Paul II) also opened the door of acceptance of the erroneous theory of evolution saying, “Today, more than a half-century after the appearance of that encyclical (Vatican II), some new findings lead us toward the recognition of evolution as more than an hypothesis.” 3 He also uses Pius XII’s statements in Humani Generis to support the idea that Evolution and Christianity are compatible stating, “Pius XII underlined the essential point: if the origin of the human body comes through living matter which existed previously, the spiritual soul is created directly by God ("animas enim a Deo immediate creari catholica fides non retimere iubet"). (Humani Generis)”4 But such is impossible. For mankind to have originated with “living matter which existed previously,” then that would mean hundreds of millions—possibly BILLIONS—of years of life and death. That would mean that death would have to have existed BEFORE ADAM! “The wage of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23) But if Mr. Wojtyla is correct, then sin and death HAD to have pre-dated Eden. That would make the word of God null and void. The two are incompatible. FACT #3: Idolatry Karol Wojtyla (a.k.a., Pope John Paul II) followed the practice of his predecessors in giving undue worship (prayer, adoration, contemplation and exaltation) of “the Virgin Mother”. In his last words, he said the following: “I do not know when it will occur, but like everything, I also place this moment in the hands of the Mother of my Master: 'Totus Tuus.' I leave everything in the same maternal hands, and all those who have been connected to my life and my vocation. Above all, I leave the Church in these hands, and also my Nation and the whole of humanity.” 5 “I also take this into consideration continually, entrusting that decisive moment to the Mother of Christ and of the Church -- to the Mother of my hope. “ 6 “...and I remain continually at the disposition of my Lord, entrusting myself to Him in His Immaculate Mother ("Totus Tuus")” 7 Imagine, entrusting yourself into the hands of ANYONE besides or in addition to Jesus!?!? When I die, mark it down. I want to be in the hands of my Savior and God, the Lord Jesus Christ. But these last words of Karol Wojtyla (a.k.a., Pope John Paul II) only scratch the surface. In another documentary, we can see blatant idol worship. The narration states: “In addition, Pope John Paul II has been called the Marian Pope. He credits our Lady of Fatima with saving his life and he has twice consecrated the entire world to the “Immaculate Heart of Mary”, done in response to the apparition’s request made at Fatima. “Furthermore, the Pope wrote these startling words in his book, “Crossing The Threshold of Hope,”: ‘After my election as Pope, as I became more involved in the problems of the Universal Church, I came to have a similar conviction: On this Universal level, if victory comes, it will be brought by Mary. Christ will conquer through her because He wants the Churches victories now and in the future to be linked to her.” (pg. 221) 8 This video documentary goes on to show Wojtyla worshipping Mary (Exodus 20:3) with uplifted hands and the burning of incense. Wojtyla is also shown bowing to a female image (Exodus 20:4, Revelation 19:20) referred to as “the black Madonna” in Poland. The narration continues: “On October 8, 2000, Pope John Paul II with 1,500 Bishops—the largest group to assemble since Vatican II, entrusted humanity and the third Millennia to Our Lady of Fatima. An apparition who promises her triumph and global peace.” 9 The documentary then immediately zooms in on Wojtyla as he speaks while facing a female idol. The translation over ETWN (A Roman cult TV network) was given: “Dear God, you have given the Mother as Queen. Through her intercession, grant us the grace of living eternally with she and her Son.” An amazing display of flesh and demonic idol worship. FACT #4: Salvation Finally, we will mention the fact that Karol Wojtyla (a.k.a., Pope John Paul II) headed an organization that denies the simple message of salvation that was given to us by Christ and His Apostles. The Roman Church teaches salvation by sacraments, works, penance and purgatory. Jesus said, “It is finished.” (John 19:30) But Rome says that we must work. John, the beloved apostle, said, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” (1 John 5:13 kjv) Rome says that even in death we will not know if we are saved. It was ironic to see Catholics shirk when asked if they thought the Pope went directly to Heaven. Many openly wondered whether the Pope might be suffering torment in Purgatory in order to pay for his own sins—wondering how LONG he would have to remain there! On the other hand, an American Catholic priest was seen on FOX News saying, “Instead of praying for the Pope, maybe we should start praying TO HIM.” What a state of confusion. In Conclusion We will not make any judgments about the state of the soul of Karol Wojtyla (a.k.a., Pope John Paul II). It is not our purpose here or elsewhere to try to pretend to know the heart of any man. The only thing we can do is judge the words and works of each man. All are sinners. The fact that Karol Wojtyla (a.k.a., Pope John Paul II) sinned would not keep him from Heaven if he were a true believer in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, trusting in the finished work of the Cross alone for salvation. But he certainly never TAUGHT that. And it is our duty to point out his error and urge Roman Catholics and all others to follow the word of God and not the traditions of man or the religious doctrines of organizations or “churches”. Follow God’s word. And as far as the evangelical leaders who are selling out for fame and fortune, reneging on their responsibility to always speak truth whether it’s popular nor not, we say SHAME. God will deal with you for your compromise in this life and you are losing reward that might otherwise be yours at the Bema Seat judgment. -----------------------------------------
